Austroads has released a ten-part guide that seeks to improve the safety and efficiency of temporary traffic management sites across Australia and New Zealand.
"The 10 part Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM) is the culmination of a four-year collaborative project between Austroads, Australasian transport agencies and industry", said Austroads CEO Nick Koukoulas.
"Temporary traffic management is a high-risk activity, and the guide encourages consistent planning and streamlined safe work practices. It applies to all works on roads and near roads, in addition to off-road development and other activities that impact on-road operations."
The guide has been developed based on best practice temporary traffic management practice in Australia and New Zealand, to assist road authorities to meet their existing legislative responsibilities for workplace and public safety.
As well as protecting the safety of the thousands of traffic management workers across the country, it also seeks to protect other vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists.
Alloc8 encourages everyone in traffic management to download and read the guide, so you can stay compliant, protect your workers and continue to keep our roads safe.
